For those that don't know...

I have gotten back into photography and now from a "business" sense.  I started out with family and friends but evidently, word has gotten out.  I have clients!!  I don't have my website up and running yet...hopefully I can get to it soon!  For now, I am using a Facebook page so come and check me out at http://www.facebook.com/sabrinaahernphotographyanddesign.  If you are on Facebook and haven't already, please "LIKE" me!  If you aren't on facebook, click the link on the left hand side that says Photos to view my albums.  Occasionally I will post here until I get my photo site up and running as well!  Thanks to all who have become clients and all who have contacted me!  I am so excited about where this may head!!  Here are a few of my recent and favorites!

Give a Gift...

My friend Megan's dad, Chris McGargill, has been diagnosed with Myelofibrosis, which is a disease of the bone marrow. Essentially, due to scarring of the bone marrow his body is no longer producing the red blood cells that it needs to support his vital organs. In order to support his declining red blood cells, her dad is currently receiving blood transfusions every 6 – 7 days.

Give the gift of life this holiday season—donate blood. Your donation could save up to three people’s lives, including Chris McGargill.  Please consider donating blood in his honor. The blood drive is Wednesday, December 29th from 6:30 am – 6:30 pm at Millard North High School. The entire process—from registration through snacks—only takes an hour of your time. You can register by clicking here* and scheduling an appointment for the holiday community blood drive. (You can also call 1-800-RED-CROSS if that is easier for you.) When you register, be sure to write “donating in honor of Chris McGargill” in the comment box so they can track accordingly. If you register by December 3, you will be entered into a drawing to win a custom Husker shirt (pictured below) designed by me!!   They will also have a special table of snacks at the blood drive dedicated to those donating in her dad’s honor, and child care will be provided by Red Cross volunteers!

If you have any questions on eligibility or blood donations, please click here.

To read more about her dad’s story, please click here.

And please help spread the word. If just 10 percent of people in the U.S. give blood this holiday season, up to 34.2 million lives might be saved. We are always in need of blood. Please forward this email on to anyone you know that might be interested in saving a life. If you’d post the following to your Facebook pages or email it to your networks, I would really appreciate it!

Holiday Cards

It's that time of year again for holiday cards!! I am offering my two collections from last year as well as custom designs. I had full intensions of adding a third collection this year but my lack of extra time thought otherwise so if you don't see anything you like I can create something more to your individual liking! I can also adjust colors in both collections to work with the photo you provide for your design. Enjoy!!
Email me if you have questions about prices or timelines.
Enjoy!!

Paint the Town Orange

Two of my girlfriends are co-chairs for Paint the Town Orange taking place November 12 at the Scott Conference Center. At this event, Liz Funk, author of “Supergirls Speak Out: Inside the Secret Crisis of Overachieving Girls,” will address this phenomenon growing in Omaha and around the country. The event will benefit YWCA Omaha and fund the organization’s mission of helping women and their families build lives of strength, growth and stability.
Dinner and Ms. Funk's program will be from 6:30-8 p.m. with a boutique before and after.

Well, I happen to be providing one of my newest "products" as a part of the boutique......Burp Cloths!! My little girl Alivia is a bit of a spitty baby and I received a burp cloth as a gift that is super absorbent and thought "hmmm I think I could make these" and away I went. Here are my burpies I am contributing to the event.
Stay tuned....I will also be selling these through my Blog and www.etsy.com.
